THE
LAST WORD
The
worship of the Christian church should be like a party for which God is host and
to which everyone is invited. Worship is
the celebration of the good news that man has a sponsor in the universe and a
fellowship on earth. Jesus Christ said
as much in the parable of the great feast (Luke 14:15-24; cf. Matt. 22:1-10),
and the church at its best has understood Christ himself to be the life of the
party.
